The project entails the implementation of lane reconfiguration for buffered bike lanes with one travel lane in each direction and a two-way left turn lane. The bike lane buffer will be substituted in some areas to allow for on-street parking. The current pedestrian access route will be upgraded to incorporate missing sections of sidewalks and construction of accessible curb ramps. Y2K Engineering’s role was to assist the Prime in preparing a Project Assessment (PA) to address existing conditions, traffic analyses, major design features of the recommended alternative. Plan Sheets will be reviewed (30% level for Initial PA and 60% level for Final PA) for bicycle activity, transit, driveway and access management, and mid-block crossing design and operation. Y2K will prepare typical sections and detailed concepts of critical areas.
