The Senior GIS Analyst is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of geographic information systems (GIS) projects. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze spatial data, create maps, and provide insights that support transportation projects.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of GIS tasks from conception to completion.
Conduct advanced spatial analysis to obtain insights and solutions for complex problems.
Conduct onsite ADA and infrastructure assessment surveys utilizing various technology to produce precise and detailed maps for ensuring ADA compliance.
Manage and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security.
Create high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate spatial data effectively.
Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders on GIS-related issues.
Stay updated on GIS technologies and methodologies
Explore innovative ways to improve GIS processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS into various projects.
Provide guidance and training to associates.
Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS analysis.
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience with database management systems (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and spatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile, KMZ).
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
High quality technical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, make sound decisions.
Ability to develop new or improved processes and/or technological methods.
Strong, effective written and verbal skills.
Strong leadership skills, including staff development and mentoring.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as required.

This position will report to the Project Manager.
This position may have direct reports.
Travel will be on an as-needed basis for client meetings, project site visits or other project tasks.
Work is performed in an office environment.
Flexibility to work various schedules and longer hours, when necessary, with little or no notice.
Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing.
Mobility required within an office and construction site environments.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on company business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on company business are subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain acceptable driving records. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on company business shall maintain the statutorily state required liability insurance.
