PROJECT OVERVIEW

Y2K Engineering supported the design team for this design-build project which added one general-purpose lane in each travel direction on a six-mile segment of SR 101L. Y2K contributed by preparing the plans and specifications for the LED roadway lighting system. The new lighting system design included freeway lighting, ramp lighting and frontage road lighting. This project upgraded all existing luminaires within the project limits. A lighting analysis was also completed to confirm that illuminance levels met ADOT requirements. This design-build project required Y2K to coordinate with the cities of Chandler, Tempe and Mesa for specifications on the crossroad and frontage road lighting.
